The Horszowski CD contains a magnificent performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto #4, now my very favorite. Other recordings are very enjoyable. These performances aren't available any other way.

The book that comes with the CD, "Miecio," is not for everyone's taste. It contains mostly diary entries. You'll be amazed by his life. (He performed for 90 years and climbed mountains in his 80's.) If you think you can enjoy reading letters and short diary entries for 400 pages, with some narration by his wife Bice, this book is wonderful. You'll learn about "Maestro" (Toscanini) and Maitre (Casals), both his good friends. I loved it. Miecio Horszowski was a great pianist and a great man. This was a five combination of book and cd for me. I gave four stars because I'm not sure fits everyone's taste.
