LOVE these things! they are awesome!!!! my kids wear them, I wear them. I mow the lawn with them on, I go on long runs with them on, I sit and read with them on - we've had fewer bug bites this year than EVER

One refill lasts me eight hours. I do like the concept, but I wish they weren't so expensive. Hey, and don't forget to turn the fan thingy off once you head inside--I think it's a little to easy to do.

My wife and I prefer these to spray - on and the like repellents. It seems to work just as well and I can use it for only as long as I am outside, like when we walk the dog near dusk after work when Mosqitoes swarm . Good product and as I always check, a great price here on Amazon

I was a wildlife biologist in the tick-infested woods of NE for many years. When I wore this stuff I never had a tick attached to my skin and it kept the mossies and biting flies at bay. When I did not wear it, I occasionally had a tick attached. It protected my sensitive skin, even my face, and wasn't greasy so I didn't break out on my face as I do with other lotions! Now I teach environmental education classes and canoe avidly, and even for a hike in the woods or day at the beach- I use this multi-purpose miracle. I love it.

I LOVE this stuff. I had never bought anything by Avon before, just because I didn't know about it. I'd heard, but didn't know how you got it etc, so I didn't have any interest since Sephora etc are so easy. Then I got Lyme diease and co infections (deadly ones without antibotics) anyway, I had known I had been bitten by Ticks but I didn't know what was making me have severe anemia and walking issues and pain etc. Then I found out: I'd had lyme for they are guessing a long time, so chroic lyme! Not good. But with a lyme literate Doctor I am in year two of treatment, and finally getting well. It's awful. I didn't want to buy Deet and use it all the time due to the chemicals, so I started looking for a safer bug repellent. I adore this! I feel safe and haven't found any bugs on me, thank G-d! Thank you Avon for making this and the Skin so soft spray and shower gel. I am in love, and I do not EVER want to be without this and the sprays too. Avon, I am in love!

Probably not what Avon intended, but I have two Arabian horses that live in a pasture year round. Due to an extremely heavy rainfall this year, groundwater/mud puddles have been excessive and with them, so is the black fly crop! They are thick everywhere, and annoying as can be for horses, especially on their muzzles where their fly masks don't cover their skin. Commercially formulated equine bug spray works great on most of their bodies, but the facial area requires something different. A friend told me that she remembered using Avon SSS as a very effective insect repellent on her horses' faces when she was young, so I decided to give it a try. Around the muzzle and nostrils is very sensitive, so I was looking for something that would keep the flies away, but was gentle on the skin. Avon SSS works fantastically in this application. I apply a small amount each day to the area and so far...no flies. And I got a bonus...it contains sun screen as well as bug repellent, so it also helps... Read more

Like some reviews, my 8-year-old son's first E300 only ran about ten minutes per charge and 13mph max speed (yes, I have a radar gun). Troubleshooting sent us toward a dragging brake, but the brake adjustment was fine. The chain, however, was super tight (I'm an old motorcycle racer, so I know a lot about chain tension). I loosened the chain tension, but no improvement, and returned the entire unit. (I suspect either a bad battery or the overly tight chain tension damaged the motor armature.) When the next E300 showed up, I checked the chain immediately out of the box. Again, super tight. I loosened the chain (extra loose for the first run, maybe 3/4" play) and completed the rest of the setup. The unit performed flawlessly. Speed was consistently 17mph and still running strong after 35 minutes (we've only done two test runs so far). Slightly tightened chain tension to about 1/2" after first run. Also, as noted by another reader, we looked everywhere for the rear tire inflater... Read more

I read every review before buying scooter. With some hesitation, i proceeded with the purchase. What a great gift for a 10 year old boy. I opened it up the day before his birthday, checked the chain tension, charged it overnight / per instructions, and surprised my son with it the next morning. My son is 80 pounds and this thing screamed for what seemed to be more than 45 minutes with all his friends jumping on that morning to take a lap around the block. Some of the lighter kids were making me a little nervous as they we going pretty fast. We also have a steep driveway, only 15 yards long, but he makes it up no problem.
I, weighing 180 pounds, have taken it out for a spin. On flat surfaces it moves along fine though with some incline, I can see how this might get a lower than perfect review. On a full charge, and some momentum I can make it up the driveway as well.
I guess if you are an adult looking for a scooter, go with a Go-Ped or Segway.

I have really enjoyed riding this scooter to work which is one mile away. I take back roads since this vehicle is not allowed on public sidewalks or streets. I always walk it across the main busy street.
The scooter works as advertised. It has good pick-up on flats. It seems to stuggle just a little on any incline. I'm 154 lbs. Everyone who has ridden it has loved it. The chain drive is relatively quiet. It has great gas mileage...like none. I haven't ridden it straight to see how long the battery would last. I've been able to get back and forth to work twice (1 mile each way) before I noticed a decrease in power. However, the low battery light didn't come on so I'm not sure if the power decline was because I was going up-hill.
One thing that is hokey is that you cannot lock the handle in the down position. A screw unlocks it so you can fold it down, but it is not convenient to carry since there is no way to lock it down. bad design.
